Spring into the new season

Although we are still heavily wrapped up in the layers protecting us from winter, most people have already begun looking at S/S15 and are anticipating the new trends in excitement...Some (myself included) have already begun buying the S/S15 wardrobe to help us through the colder months!
This is going to cover my favourite trends I'm investing in for S/S15. On this post I'm just going to cover my favourite new trends and then dedicate separate posts to separate looks, as otherwise this post will be super long!!
Chanel S/S15 show.
Starting with the runway S/S15 runways consisted of a lot of historic revival and influences.
Beginning with the biggest revival of all, which will have some of us reaching for our parents wardrobes is the return of the 70's.

From Gucci, to Saint Laurent and Tommy Hilfiger our influences consist of Hippie chic (think Woodstock '79)

From Hendrix(above), to Elton John and Ziggy Stardust(below); the main S/S15 theme is an enormous throwback!
David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust and Elton John are a massive shoe influence this season with glittered platforms making an appearance.

Despite common misconception, double denim is no longer a faux pas. It's actually a huge trend this season! With new ideas and details embellishing and improving this fine classic, and help exposure at a range of shows; from Dolce and Gabbana to Fendi and Micheal Kors to Etro, denim is the one to grab!

Your quickest update to S/S15 trends (and a staple to the season) is obviously stripes. Everyone was loving stripes at the shows both Horizontal and vertical. With crisp, clean shapes and the injection of new materials (like leather at Louis Vuitton) stripes have been redesigned for this season.

To be right on trend (and to wear it in my favourite way) team your stripes in preferable form of a shirt dress with a tan coloured belt. Whether its a leather belt or one knotted like a martial arts pro, the addition of the belt will place you right on trend!

Violet, Blue and White were the colour focuses at fashion week. Violet shades can complement any skin-tone, so the celebration I had when I saw this was ridiculous. It means that to wear the top pastel colour of the season I don't need to rely on constantly reaching for my bottle of St Tropez for a leg confidence hit! YAY!

The whites focus was more of the detailing, but the fresh, clean white is a must! This is one trend that my pale freckly skin will not allow me to embrace unfortunately as some of the pieces are exquisite!!

Finally, the blues. Any shade, from corn-flour blue shirts at VB Jeans to the dark indigo of the double denim at Stella McCartney and TOD's. This is a colour trend that everyone can jump on as there will be a shade to suit everyone.

The best thing about the blue trend is the marine mermaid finish *sigh*, because obviously every girl/teen/woman's dream is to be a mermaid and this seasons blue detailing will allow that.
